Karen Elsadek joined the school five years ago as teacher of the 1st/2nd class as well as math teacher of the 5th/6th and 7th/8th classes. Prior to that Karen had 18 years of experience as a certified teacher in Vermont, combining teaching and administrative experiences in a one-room school covering K to 8th grades. In addition to her administrative duties, Karen will teach the K class for three hours. |

Jamie Thompson A graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, she joined our school threeyears ago. She is a certified teacher for elementary grades and also middle school Mathematics. She believes that “Every child deserves an education and the opportunity to be successful in life”. She will teach Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies and Science to the 2nd/3rd class as well as Mathematics to the 4th/5th and 6th/7th. |

Mellisa Reed is a Michigan certified teacher who graduated from Olivet College. Her major was History and minor was Language Arts. She joined our school three years ago and was also named teacher of the year her first year. She has been married for 16 years and has three children. She will teach Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies and Science to the 1st grade class as well as Language Arts to the 4th/5th class. |

Yusuf El-Sulayman After 32 years of teaching in the Lansing Public Schools, he joined our school three years ago. He has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from MSU. He is married with 9 children, 5 grand children. He reverted to Islam in 1973. He will teach Social Studies and Science to the 4th/5th class. He will also teach Science, Social Studies and Language Arts to the 6th/7th class. |
| Sr. Hafsa M. Ali | Teacher - Arabic, Islamic Studies, Quran | With an education degree from Um Dorman, Sudan, and many years of experience, Hafsa is a valuable and beloved teacher. Hafsa has been with the school since its opening in 1996. Hafsa will teach Qur'an, Arabic, and Islamic studies for the K class and Qu'ran and Arabic for other classes. |

After many years of teaching in Sunday schools, she joined our school five years ago. She will teach Islamic studies and Arabic for the 4th/5th and 6th/7th classes. She will also teach Quran. |

The Secretary. She has been with the school form the beginning as a volunteer, parent, part-time aid, and now as a full-time secretary. Many people in the community know her as a caring, enthusiastic, and initiative individual who has helped the community in many areas. |

Sr. Zainab joined our school last year as the Pre K teacher. She is certified as a Montessori teacher by the American Montessori Society to teach ages 2 ½ through 6. She comes to us highly recommended with 5 years of experience. |

Sr. Mirvat was with the school when it first opened. She taught Preschool, Arabic, and was a teacher’s aide. We were very pleased to have her rejoin the school two years ago. She is a very kind and caring person who we are pleased to have working with our students. |

Sr. Feryal joined our school two years ago as a Quran teacher and Arabic aide. She is a very dedicated and caring person. This year she will continue to teach Quran and assist with Arabic. Sr. Feryal also teaches Islamic studies and Quran to the Pre K class. |
